Brodnax Yesterday morning at 6 0'clock Mr, James M. Brodnax, who has resided in our city since childhood, died very suddenly at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Stockton a few miles from the city. For some time he has been suffering with heart disease, but bore the pain with great fortitude. He was very patient and never complained. On Thursday night he ate his supper and retired as well as usual, but yesterday morning while sitting on the porch enjoying the cool invigorating air he suddenly fell to the floor, and in the course of an hour expired. He was fifty-one years of age, and leaves a wife and five children. At the beginning of the war he enlisted with the City Light Guards and proved to be a brave soldier. His widow was a sister of Mr. Joe Roper, the well-known engineer. Mr. Brodnax was a son of Dr. Brodnax whom many of the old citizens remember. The cause of his death was no doubt heart disease. The deceased was a kind, generous man, and the news of his death will be received with sadness by his many friends. To the bereft ones we extend our sincere sympathy. The funeral will take place from the late residence at 10 0'clock this morning. James M. Brodnax is son of Dr. Robert Emmett Brodnax, both are buried in Linwood Cemetery, Columbus, Ga
