Mr. Cox had been in declining health for about a year but his condition was not considered serious until about two weeks ago. He was superintendent of the blacksmith shop of the Central of Georgia railroad for 40 years and was retired about three years ago. He was a faithful member of the Eastern Heights Baptist church and has hosts of friends who will be deeply grieved to learn of his death. Mr. Cox was born in Coweta County, GA., December 18th 1850 and was married to MISS LAURA RHODES of Campbell county. Besides his wife he is survived by four daughters. MRS. A.B. MOORE, MRS. J.C. ANDERSON, MRS. A. P. PHELTS and MRS. R. W. PETERSON, all of this city, one sister, MRS. WILLIAM HOPSON of Atlanta and also several grand, and great grand children. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock from the residence, conducted by REV. R. M. RIGDON, pastor of the Eastern Heights Baptist church. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: C. F. FARISH, HENRY WATSON, W. H. GREEN, JIM POWELL, E. T. MOORE, and W. P. STOTPHAN. Internment will be in Linwood cemetery.
