APRIL 26, 1930 DEATHS and FUNERALS JOHN CROSSMAN PASSES FRIDAY Prominent Columbus Citizen Dies At His Home Friday Afternoon John Scott Burney Crossman, retired Columbus merchant, died Friday afternoon at his residence, 114 Ninth Street, after an illness of many months. Besides his wife, Mrs. Roxie WILSON Crossman, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Dora E. WILLIS of Columbus; five nephews, James McMILLIAN of Cordele, GA; Charles C. WILLIS, John W. WILLIS, T. B. WILLIS and Louis P.. DOWDELL, JR. all of Columbus; and four nieces, Mrs. Annie Lou BROWN of Miami,, Mrs. Dora E. STOREY, Mrs. Ethel BROOKS and Mrs. R. N. HOLT, all of Columbus {GA}. Mr. Crossman was a member of the First Baptist church. For many years he was prominently connected with the retail mercantile business in Columbus. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3pm at the Torbett funeral home. Dr. J. A. Thomas, pastor of the St. Luke Methodist church, will conduct the service and the interment will be in Riverdale cemetery.
