Cunningham http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002535 August 18, 2007, 3:24 pm The Columbus Enquirer-Sun, November 10, 1908 Mrs. Toombs Ellison Passed Away Sunday Well Known and Highly Esteemed Woman Goes To Her Reward The sad death of Mrs. Sallie Lula Ellison, aged 36 years, occurred at her home about three miles east of the city at 7:50 o'clock Sunday morning, after an illness of several months, her death being proceeded by that of her baby just born. She was the wife of Mr. Toombs Ellison, a well known and highly respected citizen of Muscogee county, and the death of this loveable young woman is indeed a very sad one. The deceased was a devoted Christian woman, a member of the Methodist church, and was dearly beloved by all who knew her. By her kind and gentle disposition she had won the love and respect of scores of friends and many homes were made sad by the death of this bright and loveable young matron, and the heartbroken husband and family have the deepest sympathy of their many sorrowing friends in the sad loss he has sustained. Besides her bereaved husband, she is survived by three young daughters, Misses Louise, Elizabeth and Sarah. Also by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Hamer, of Midland, Ga.; three brothers, Messrs. T.Z. Hamer and J.G. Hamer, of Columbus, and Mrs. George Stanford Hamer, of Midland, and four sisters, Mrs. E.B. King, Misses Eva and Francis Hamer, of Midland and Mrs. N.K. Bowden, of Columbus. The funeral took place from the house yesterday afternoon at two o'clock, the service being conducted by the Rev, J.M. Foster. The interment was in Linwood cemetery and the following gentlemen acted as the pallbearers: Messrs. J.W. Blackmon, Cliff McLendon, F.U. Garrard, H.H. Blackmon, W.A. Scarbrough, W.H. Harvey, M.M. Massey and T.J. Wynn.
