                H. E. GOODLETT
  H. E. Goodlett, 76, died Wednesday evening at 10:30 o'clock after a short 
illness at the City Hospital.  Mr. Goodlett has been in declinig health for 
almost a year, having been confined to his bed the past two weeks.
  Mr. Goodlett was born in Apalachicola, Fl and has been connected with the 
boats plying the Chattahoochee River for the past thirty-seven years.  And, the 
latter part of his service he was Chief engineer, until his retirement a few 
years ago.
  Mr. Goodlett is survived by two daughters,  Mrs. W. N. Jordan of Savannah, Ga 
and Mrs. Firm Roberts of Columbus.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian 
Church.  The funeral service will be held this afternoon at four o'clock at the 
Torbett Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery.
