Givens, 78, of 4902 18th Ave., Columbus, died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital. a graveside service was today in Parkhill Cemetery, Mr. Givens was born March 18, 1909, in Houston County, Ala.; son of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Givens. He as a resident of Columbus for the past 38 years and was retired from Bibb Mfg. Co. Survivors include his wife, Wille; a daughter, Barbara G. Hardwick of Columbus; three sisters, Johnnie Smith and Florence Spann, both of Columbus and Annie Lee Killingsworth of Phenix City; three brothers, Sanford Givens of Milton, Fla., Henry Earl Givens of Pensacola, Fla., and Ray Givens of Columbus; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Willie Inez Givens, 72, of 4902 18th Ave., Columbus, died Tuesday at Oak Manor nursing home. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. Mrs. Givens was born July 7, 1915, in Houston County, Ala.; daughter of John Harvey Matthews and Emma Smith Matthews. She liven in Columbus since 1945 and retired as a seamstress for the old Dee-Leigh's Dress Shop. She was the widow of Bascom A. Givens. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara G. Hardwick of Columbus; a sister, Myrtle Barnes of Starke, Fla.; a brother, Robert T. Norris of Dothan, Ala.; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Larry Rudolph Givens, 36, of 2715 Beacon Ave., Columbus, died Monday at him home. Authorities said the death was caused by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. The graveside service will be at 4 p.m. today in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary's Macon Road Chapel. Mr. Givens was born March 15, 1944, in Houston County, Ala., son of Mr. and Mrs. Bascom Givens of Columbus. He was a pressman for the Quick Rubber Stamp Co. and had lived in Columbus most of his life. He was a 1962 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School. Survivors other that his parents include a daughter, Miss Teresa Ann Givens, Oxford, Ala.; and a sister, Mrs. Barbara Hardwick, Columbus. Funeral Notices Givens-Graveside services for Larry Rudolph Givens will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Parkhill Cemetery with the Rev. Alfonzo Curlee officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stanley Simcizen, Gene Dixon, David Bishop, Joe Quimbley, Danny Givens and Calvin Starlin. Survivors include, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bascom Givens of Columbus; a daughter, Miss Teresa Ann Givens of Oxford, AL; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Hardwick of Columbus.
