M. HINES, died at their residence in Browneville at 10 o'clock last Friday night, after an illness of five weeks with dysentery. The remains will be carried to Clapp's factory this morning at 10 o'clock for interment in the family burial grounds." - from the "Columbus, GA, Daily Enquirer-Sun" newspaper, Sunday morning, 02 JUN 1889, p. 3, column 1. The name of Browneville (in Lee Co, AL) was changed to Phenix City in 1889. I am interested to learn more about this HINES family and their kin. This burial at the Clapp's Factory Cemetery may indicate that other family members were already buried there. I will be glad to share information about the mill, village, and cemetery.
