Haden, a farmer, at his home four miles west of this city, missed Mr. Haden and struck his ten-year-old daughter, Elbin, in the abdomen. She died from the wound. The father and mother were seated on the porch at the time and the child was in the hall of the house. No clue is known to the assassin yet, though the officers are making a diligent search. M.V. Culpepper of Girard, Ala., was arrested on suspicion of shooting at Haden. The two had a fight recently and bad feeling existed between them.
