Moon, of Lee County in connection with the killing Christmas Day of Walter Jones, Columbus negro, at Smith Station. An exhaustive investigation has been made by the Sheriff's authorities in to the shooting and as a result four persons are behind the bars in the Opelika jail. The Jones negro was chased from a house by five negroes his brother said and a few minutes later several shots were fired. An investigation revealed Jones dying with three bullet wounds in his body.
