Sanford Leach died at his home in Line Creek district, near Griffin, of Cancer on his face, after a lingering illness. The deceased was on of Spalding County's oldest and respected citizens. For several year he has been a faithful minister of the Baptist church. He was eighty-three years old and was buried at Fairview Church." His name was Langford Sanford Leach and he was a minister of the Primitive Baptist Church which later became Fairview Baptist. His wife was Milla Manard whom he married in 1833 in Pike County, Ga.
