A Noble Life Ended

A life marked by cheerful service and complete consecration to the duties and 
responsibilities of his high calling came to an end when the Rev. G.G. 
MacDonell passed away.

Dr. MacDonell was one of the most widely known ministers in the state and his 
death is deeply mourned not only by the members of the Methodist church, for 
which he did such noble, faithful work, but by the hundreds, indeed thousands 
of other friends, who appreciated and admired his purity of life and lofty 
character.  Nowhere did he have warmer, more devoted friends than in Columbus, 
where he had served both as pastor and presiding elder.

Dr. MacDonell was one of the veterans of the cross of Georgia.  He fought a 
good fight and when death came to him, in his serene old age, he carried with 
him in his soul the blessed consciousness of having done his duty. – Columbus
