A. Ware, and of Mrs. Jane e. Martin, are invited to attend the funeral of Miss MAGGIE W. MARTIN, at the Presbyterian church, this (Friday) morning at 10 o'clock. Gone to Rest. Ere the dawn of day and at the hour of three yesterday morning Miss Maggie W. Martin surrounded by kind friends and loving kindred passed silently away. Just as a babe would fall asleep in its mother's arms, so this beloved one passed from life to the rest beyond. Conscious to the very last, and calm as one is who has true faith in the promises of our Saviour, she bade all good bye, saying if such was possible she would not choose to remain longer. She then left messages for each of the absent members of the family, and the spirit fled. Truer faith was probably never shown than in the death of this universally popular young lady. Without a sigh, without a regret, but with the truest happiness she answered the call from Heaven. Miss Maggie was the daughter of Mrs. J. E. Martin, and granddaughter of Dr. R. A. Ware. Her father, Mr. Peter Martin, an extensive planter of Talbot county, died just after the war. About six years ago she joined the Presbyterian church, and has ever been a consistent member. Only eight days since she was taken sick. The congestion from the beginning was so severe that it baffled the skill of physicians. In a fortnight she was to have become the wife of one of our most worthy young men, but Divine Providence ruled otherwise, and with true christian fortitude she bowed to the inevitable calmly. To those sorrowing ones who now mourn her loss we have deepest and sincerest sympathy. Remember, she is in a brighter, happier home, and has only gone before the loved ones of earth.
