He had been sick for two years. Born in Chattahoochee county Sept. 27, 1889, Mr. McBride had lived in this area all his life. He was a son of the late John J. and Lula McBride. He was a member and a deacon of the Providence Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. McBride are his wife, Mrs. Ivy Tomblin McBride; two sons, John E. and Claude McBride, Columbus; four daughters, Mrs. Daniel Strauss, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Payton Preston, Columbus, and Mrs. Fred Allen and Mrs. Daniel Lott, Opelika, Ala.; a brother, J.T. Mcbride, Columbus; three Sisters, Mrs. Rufus Gammell and Misses Mamie and Winnie Mae McBride, Columbus, 16 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Britton and Dobbs chapel. The Rev. H.L. Knighton, pastor of the Free Will Baptist Church in Phenix city, assisted by the Rev. Mervin Watford, pastor of the Britt David road Baptist Church, will officicate. Burial will be in Parkhill cemetery.
