Jack H. McCumber April 29, 1929- May 11, 2007 COLUMBUS, GA— Reverend Jack H. 
McCumber, 78, of Columbus, Georgia, died Friday, May 11, 2007, at Magnolia 
Manor. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, in the 
Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with Reverend Udell Addison 
officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive 
friends today from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. McCumber was born 
April 29, 1929, in Marion, South Carolina, son of the late George Flemer 
McCumber and Minnie Lee Daniel McCumber. He was a minister who preached at Ft. 
Perry for 20 years, six years at Mauk Baptist Church and Moore's Chapel for two 
years until present. He had retired also as a civil service employee and was a 
member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Grace McCumber of 
Columbus; his sons and daughters-in-law, Guy M. (Julie) McCumber of 
Castleberry, Fla., John M. McCumber of Pearson, Ga., Raliegh ÒSandyÓ 
(Christina) Johnson of Castleberry, Fla., Steve Purvis and Ruth Williams of 
Smiths, Ala., Randy (Laura) Whitley of Butler, Ga.; his daughters and sons-in-
law, Sharon (Thomas) Albritton of Buena Vista, Ga., Cathy (Cody) Rustin of 
Reynolds, Ga., and Sandra (Barney) Teat of Mauk, Ga.; a brother, Elvin McCumber 
of Lake City, S.C.; his sisters, Doris King of Marion, S.C., and Margie Smith 
of Charleston, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several 
nieces and nephews
