Ollie Jones and Parr, it is said, were quarreling over a $5 and a $1 bill, while McDaniel and Hayes were standing near by. Parr is said to have shouted to McDaniel and Hayes to look out and fired at Jones, the bullet going wide of its mark and killing the two men. McDaniel was shot through the heart, while the bullet entering Hayes’ back and came out slightly above his heart.
