MOORE A.B. MOORE “BEAUREGARD” as he was generally well known among his friends, veteran resident locomotive engineer for the Central of Georgia Railway who for the past many years has held a run on the M & G division of that road, died almost suddenly yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o’clock at his home, 1036 Eighteenth street .Up until a few minutes prior to his death, Mr. Moore was apparently as well as usual and announcement of his death was the source of surprise and deep regret throughout the city and local railroad circles. In point of service Mr. Moore was probably the oldest engineer on the road. He has been driving his engine for the past forty-three years and his faithfulness and efficiency was recognized by all who knew him. Mr. Moore was born and reared in Harris county, having moved to Columbus more than two score years ago when he began service with the Central. He was sixty years of age when the death summons came. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife and one son, FRANK MOORE, of Columbus; three daughters, MRS. C. W. YOUNG, MRS. C. F. AKIN, JR., and MISS DELIA MOORE, all of Columbus; three brothers, B. A. MOORE of Hamilton, J. V. MOORE of Foreston? and T. F. MOORE of Fairfax, Ala.; two sisters Mrs. E. J. [Unreadable] of Hamilton, and MRS. LOUISE DAVIS of Chipley. Two grandchildren also survive him. They are CURTIS YOUNG, JR., and FRANK MOORE, JR. Mr. Moore was for many years a consistent member of the East Highlands Baptist church and was a man most highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock from the family residence by REV. R. M. RIGDON, pastor of the Comer? Memorial Baptist church following which internment will be in Riverdale cemetery.
