Massey At His Home Five Miles East of the City Mr. J.C. Massey an old and highly esteemed citizen of this county, died at his home five miles east of the city at 3:30 o’clock Sunday and was buried yesterday at the Massey burying ground eight miles ease of the city at 11 o’clock. Mr. Massey was 61 years of age and a member of the Free Will Baptist church. He is survived by his wife and four children Mr. Walter Massey, Mr. Columbus Massey and the Misses Lonella and Hestella Massey all of this county. The family have the sympathy of many friends in their sad loss. * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * November 7, 1911 Mrs. Sarah V. Massey Died Tuesday Night Mrs. Sarah V. Massey, wife of Mr. J.C. Massey, deceased, died last night a 9 o’clock, at her home, fine miles east of the city, after an illness of three weeks of a complication of diseases. She is survived by four children Messrs. J.W., and S.C. Massey and Misses Louella and Estella Massey. She was an excellent woman and a consistent member of the Baptist. Her funeral will take place from the home this afternoon, at 2 o’clock and will be conducted by Rev. John w. Jackson, assisted by the Rev. W. H. Ketchum, Jr. The pall-bears will be Messrs. J. A. Hunnicutt, M.L. Comer, A. M. Munroe, C.C. Fuller, F. H. Warner, and L.A. fuller. The interment will be in the family burying ground, eight miles east of the city. * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * July 22, 1922 Mrs. A. M. Munro Mrs. A. M. Munro, age 45, died at 10:30 o’clock last night at her home five miles east of Columbus on Steam Mill road, seven weeks after suffering a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. Munro is survived by her husband, A.M. Munro, one brother S.C. Massey, one sister, Miss Suella Massey and a god-son, Harold Munro. She was a member of Providence Baptist church from her early childhood. The funeral will be held at 4 o’clock this afternoon from the family residence. Dr. I.S. McElroy and Rev. Mr. Lumpkin, pastor of the Free Will Baptist which, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Riverdale cemetery. * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * Exact date not known approximately 1950 Miss Luella Massey Miss Luella Massey, 71, a resident of Columbus all her life, died at 6 p.m. Sunday at her home, 1724 Forest Avenue. She had been sick for several months. Miss Massey was born in Columbus, Aug. 5, 1879, a daughter of the lat John C. and Sarah Godwin Massey. She was a member of the Wynnton Methodist church. Surviving are three nieces, Mrs. R. N. Neal, Baltimore, Mrs. John L. Coleman, High Point, N.C. and Mrs. J.W. Moon, Ellerslie, GA, and three nephews, S.C. Massey, Burlington, N.C. and J. Edgar and Preston B. Massey, Columbus, Funeral arrangements will be announced by Striffler mortuary. * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * November 15, 1957 Death Claims Mrs. Massey Mrs. Allie Brooks Massey, 81, widow of Sidney Columbus Massey, Partridge Drive, died at 8:50 p.m. yesterday at the Medical Center after a long illness. Born Aug. 18, 1876, in Columbus, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sid Brooks, she was a member of the Methodist Church. She has lived in Columbus all of her life. Survivors included three daughters, Mrs. Newt Neel, Hanover, Md. Mrs. John Coleman, High Point N.C., And Mrs. J.W. Moon, Ellerslie, GA: three sons, S.C. Massey, Atlanta, J.E. and P.B. Massey both of Columbus.
