Massey and Mrs Susan E. Massey are in- vited to attend the funeral of the latter, from the First Baptist Church, this afternoon at 4 o'clock. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Death of Mrs. Willis W. Massey The many friends of Mrs. Willis W. Massey will be struck with astonishment and sorrow this morning, when they learn that she is dead. She was taken ill with congestion last Thursday afternoon, and rapidly grew worse, until death claimed her for a victim at 6 o'clock yesterday evening. All that tender care and medical skill could devise was done for her relief, but all efforts proved of no avail. Mrs. Massey was a daughter of the late Samuel R. Andrews, and a sister of Mr. J. C. Andrews, Mr. Davis A. Andrews and Mrs. Wm. Ragland, of this city. Several years ago she married Mr. A. C. Kirven, and to them two children were born, Mr. Noble Kirven being a son. After Mr. Kirvin's death she was married to Mr. Willis W. Massey, who, together with her two sons, Noble and Clarence, still survive her, and who have the heartfelt sympathy of this entire community. Mrs. Massey was an exemplary Christian lady and a member of the First Baptist Church. Her death will leave an aching void in many hearts, and will bring deep grief to a large circle of near relations. Such bereavement would be almost unbearable were it not that they have so many assurances that they may meet her beyond the "sunnset's radiant glow," where parting and death will be unknown. Mrs. Massey's spirit has secured a home in the "New Jerusalem," where she will be forever at rest. The funeral takes place from the First Baptist Church at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend. Joan Hill vjbhill@alltel.net
