Massey Mr. W.C.D. Massey, age 75, died at the city hospital Thursday. He is survived by two sons O.L. Massey of Phenix City and E.L. Massey of Macon, Ga., two daughters Mrs. Rosa Fuller and Mrs. Minnie Langford, both of Columbus. The body was carried to T.W. Britton's funeral home 3104 Second Ave. to be prepared for burial,and the funeral will be held from the chapel at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. Interment will be in Providence cemetery six miles east of Columbus. ****************************************************************************** DEATH OF MR. HIRAM MASSEY Obiturary from the Ledger Enquirer, Wednesday 29,1881 Mr. Hiram Massey died Monday at his residence a few miles east of this city. For years he has been suffering from dropsey, and the fatal disease baffled the skill of the physicians and resulted in his death at the time above stated. Mr. Massey was one of the most successful farmers of our county, and had amassed quite a fortune. He was about sixty-five years of age and leaves one grown son. The news of his death will be a source of regret to his many friends in the city and county.
