Owen AN ESTEEMED LADY FALLS ON SLEEP AND CEASES TO BE The Centre of a Rainbow of Good Deeds Where Virtue and Happiness Ruled It is always sad to be brought into contact with the messenger of Death , for he is no respector of persons. But even with all his sterness , Death is sometimes baffled, for he frequently finds his victim ready for his summons. Such an instance happened last evening, when at 7:15 o'clock, the last evening , the gentle spirit of Miss Aurelia N. Miller took its flight to the God who gave it. Miss Miller was a native of Switzerland , born in 1828, being at the time of her death in her sixth-ninth year. She removed to this city in 1852 from Monticello, Fla, and from then until her death moved in a circle where friendship meant true worth of character, and charitable considerations for the misfortune of many who were the recipients of her kindly offices was the rule of her life. Her death will be sorely felt by all who knew her, for while her demeaner was quiet and unobstrusive , she lived to a purpose , which has impressed itself upon tablets of many hearts in a record of kind acts. The cause of Miss Millers death was the bursting of a blood vessel in her head near the temple superinduces by the extreme hot weather of the past few days. Death ! Grim Monster without a victors palm; Unmoved by pity, and without remorse Claims each victim for his own, Even though that victim be our friend. The funeral mass will be celebrated tomorrow morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Church of the Holy Family, conducted by Rev. Father Shadewell, The internment will take place in the beautiful Linwood Cemetery. The deceased was an aunt of Mr. J. H. Busbey , with the Call Pulblishing Company. THE CALL extends deepest sympathy and condolence to all who are especially bereaved by the death of this noble lady. NOTE: The obituary refers to Aurelia as a single lady, but according to the 1850 Jefferson CO, FL Census, and the 1860 Columbus. Muscogee CO. GA Census, she was the wife of Joseph F. Miller. The J. H. Busbey, surviving nephew, was my great uncle.
