Mr. J.W. Favors Dead

Mr. J.W. Favors died at his home on Seventeenth Street at 10 o’clock today, 
after an illness of seven weeks, from a complication of diseases.  He was 55 
years of age, and is survived by his wife and 12 children.  Mrs. McAlfee and 
Mrs. Jesse McCraney, and Messrs. Home and Howard Favors being his eldest 
children.

Mr. Favors served one term as a member of the city council, where he made an 
enviable record.  The funeral arrangements had not been fully completed up to a 
late hour this afternoon.  His death, while not unexpected by the members of 
his family, was a great shock to them and to the scores of friends of the 
deceased gentleman. – Saturday’s Ledger.
