Bowden of Flat Rock, Dead The sad death of Mrs. M.M. Bowden occurred Sunday morning about 11:45 o’clock at her home, Flat Rock, Ga., about eight miles north of the city, after an illness of about two years. Mrs. Bowden was 64 years of age, a devout Christian and a member of Pearce Chapel Methodist Church near her home. She was one of the best-known and most beloved women in her community and her death has cast a shadow over that entire section of the county. A devoted wife, a loving mother and a sincere friend, her memory will long live in the hearts of those who knew her. Mrs. Bowden is survived by nine children, five sons and four daughters, Messrs. W.O., G.H., N.K., A.J., T.J. and M.M. Bowden, and Mrs. J.F. Waller, Mrs. A.T. Reese, Mrs. Jeane Callier and Miss Belle Bowden; also by three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Griscom, of Florida, Mrs. Sallie Calloway, of Warm Springs and Mrs. Mattie Wright of Chipley, and by one brother, Mr. Jeff Simmons, of LaGrange, Ga. The funeral took place yesterday morning at 10 o’clock at Pearce Chapel, services being conducted by the Rev. E.M. Whiting, and interment was at the same place. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearer: Messrs. W.O. Bowden, N.K. Bowden, A.T. Bowden, T.J. Bowden, M.M. Bowden, sons of the deceased and Mr. L.E.
