Louis F. Girrard The death of this estimable gentleman deprives Columbus of a distinguished citizen. His going away is a distinctive shock to thousands in this section of the state. To his chosen profession – the law – he gave his chief study, and in it he excelled. The short time devoted to serving the state in the general assembly stamped him as one of Georgia’s gifted sons and left assurance, had his tastes been in that direction, that his ability was equal to any position in the gift of the people. With mournful pleasure we record ourselves among the number of the personally bereaved and transmit to the stricken home our sincere sympathy.
