          MRS. LUCY APPLEWHITE
  Mrs. Lucy Applewhite, 68, died Tuesday afternoon at 3 0'clock after an 
illness of ten months.
  The deceased was born in Stewart County the daughter of J. C. Lipsey and 
Sarah Creamer.
  She had resided in Chattahoochee County for a number of years before her 
death.
  Mrs. Applewhite is survived by her husband A. W. Applewhite,  a sister, Mrs. 
W. H. Gafford of Phenix City,  a brother, G. W. Lipsey of Stewart County and 
several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 0'clock at the Red Hill 
Church of Stewart County and interment was in the Church Cemetery.
