State News Items

Mrs. Emily Smith, aged 79, was burned to death in her home at Columbus 
Wednesday night.  The family had left the house and it is supposed she caught 
fire from an exploding lamp.  Passersby discovered the fire and when they 
rushed in found the woman dead.
