White Man and Negro in Fatal Pistol Duel

Columbus, Ga., Aug. 18 – 

A pistol duel to the death occurred near Goat Rock, Ga., twelve miles north of 
here, today, according to reports received here tonight.  The combatants were 
Sam Gordon, a white man and George Caldwell, a Negro.

The two bodies were found near each other about dusk, a pistol clasped in the 
right hand of each.
