Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 9, 2000 at Striffler- Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel, with Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Honorary Pallbears will be his nephews and the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Self was born in Hamilton, GA September 10, 1914, son of the late John David and Lula Mae Self. He has lived in Columbus most of his life and he retired from civil service at Fort Benning, Ga, and was the owner and operator of Self Repair Company. He has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1957 and was a member of the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class and was a member of the Mt. Hermon Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Self, of Columbus, GA: a son, Raymond Self of Sanford, FL; three sisters, Beulah Oliver, of Griffin, GA, Ethel Granberry of Columbus, GA and Mildred (Kenneth) Gibson, of Phenix City, AL; one granddaughter Tara (Nathaniel) Trombetti of Sanford, FL; several nieces and nephews.
