Young, who died at his home in Beallwood, two miles from Columbus, was one of the oldest and most prominent citizens of that city and also well known throughout the south. He was the father of cotton manufacturing in the south, and was for years the president of the Eagle and Phenix Manufacturing Company, the largest cotton manufactory in the south, and one of the largest in the whole country. Mr. Young established the mills. He was eighty-seven years of age, and is survived by four sons.
