John Peabody, the senior member of the law firm of Peabody, Brannon, Hatcher and Martin, died at his home in Columbus Monday night after only a few days illness. He was the author of the bill which prevented cities and counties from issuing bonds except on a two-thirds vote, the substance of which was incorporated in the state constitution in 1887. He was a prominent man of Columbus and will be greatly missed in that city.
