There is no notation as to date or paper: J. A. PERKINS - Jesse A. Perkins, 78, retired Locomotive Engineer, Columbus, died at his home in Miami April 19th where he had resided for the past 12 years. Mr. Perkins entered Cof, GA service as Fireman April 11, 1899, and was promoted to Locomotive Engineer February `15, 1901. In January, 1921, he was appointed Road Foreman of Engines, Savannah. He retired November 17, 1937. Graveside services were held in Linwood Cemetery, Columbus, April 22, with Rev. E. M. Altman officiating. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Fannie E. Perkins, Miami; two daughter, Mrs. Lee Tucker, Miami and Mrs. Carolyn Rankin, Los Angeles, a stepdaughter, Mrs Charles Petith, Miami; a stepson, E. A. Ryder, Atlanta; two brother, J. N. and R.
