October 13, 1930 Columbus, Georgia reads: George H.C. Ray, 51, died Sunday afternoon at 2:10 at the Muscogee County sanitarium after an illness of several months. Mr. Ray, who spent practically all his life in Pickton, Texas, came here several months ago for his health. He is survived by four brothers, J.J.Ray, of Birmingham, Ala., A.P.Ray of Phenix City, D.P.Ray, of Macon and S.E.Ray of Nashville, Tenn., two sisters, Mrs. Q.T. Foster and Mrs. E.E. Walton, both of Columbus. Mr. Ray was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic Order No. 1180 of Pickton, Texas. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Bevis funeral home, conducted by rev. J.L. Daniels, pastor of the Trinity Methodist Church. The services were held at the grave in Pine Grove cemetery.
