Taunton, employed at the Columbus Manufacturing Company as elevator operator, was instantly killed there while at work on the machine, which was located on the fourth floor at the time. In some manner Taunton is thought to have lost his hold on the machine and toppled down the shaft, a distance of about sixty feet.
