Page 2. #4 " Rites Slated Today For Pfc. Thweatt" The Columbus Ledger, May 13, 1953, Page 2 Body of Solider Killed in Korea To Arrive Today The body of Pfc. James A. Thweatt, 19, who was killed in action in Korea March 7, 1953, will arrive here at 9:30 p.m. today. Son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Thweatt, Pfc. Thweatt was a member of the 31st Infantry Regiment when killed. He had been in the Army for the last 11 months. He was born in Slocum, Ala., March 8, 1934, and had lived in Columbus for the last eight years, having come here from Dothan, Ala. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Johnnie Givens Thweatt, 3809 Third Ave., Columbus; his father, James E. Thweatt, Bartow, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Betty Weaver, Columbus, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Britton and Dobbs Chapel, with a Fort Benning chaplain conducting the service. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery, with full military honors and military pallbearers.
