WELCOME  NORTH CAROLINA     MAY 31, 1922 ---NOVEMBER 8 , 2006
James David Vaughn, age 84, of Welcome,Bethesda Road died Wednesday, November 
8, 2006.

Mr Vaughn was born May 31, 1922 in Chesterfield , South Carolina a son of the 
late John Wesley Vaughn and the late Cora Mae Wallace Vaughn.

A disabled veteran , he served  as a Paratrooper in the U S Army during WWII 
and was a life member of The Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member 
of NRA

He was first married to the former Hazel Louise Rose who died November 21, 
1979. He later was married to the former Ernestine Sykes, who died October 18, 
1990. Two sisters, Eunice Williams and Mae Bell Adams and two brothers Harvey 
Vaughn and Frank Vaughn also preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Linda Vaughn Freeman and her husband Danny of 
Welcome;A son , Wesley E Vaughn and his wife Jane of Columbus, GA. Five 
grandaughters, Mrs Dana Lynn Freeman Leonard and her husband Rodney and Mrs 
Kimberly Dawn Freeman Koontz and her husband Phillip  all of Lexington,Michelle 
Vaughn of High Point, Mrs Rhiannon S. Ovdenk and her husband David  and Mrs 
Wendy B Gilbert and her husband Jeff, all of Columbus, GA. One 
grandson,Jonathan Davon Freeman and his wife Terri of Midway; thirteen great- 
grandchildren,and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Sunday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral 
Service,1015 Eastchester Dr.. High Point, N C , conducted by the Rev. Randy 
Robbins. Burial will be in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
