Donald Ray Veasey Columbus, Ga.- Donald "Don" Ray Veasey, 55, of 7143 Whitesville Road, Columbus, GA, died Thursday, August 26, 1999 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. edt, Sunday August 29, 1999 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, with the Rev. Norman Garrison officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening for 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. edt. Mr. Veasey was born February 4, 1944 in Phenix City, AL, the son of Barney James Veasey, Jr. and Minnie Waller Veasey of Phenix City, AL. He was retired for Fieldcrest Mills and was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church. Mr. Veasey served in the United States Army and the Viet Nam War. Other than his parents he is survived by his wife Peggy Weaver Veasey of Columbus; a daughter, Tammy Heath of Phenix City, Al, two sons, Donald Keith Veasey of Columbus, GA and Kevin Ladon Veasey of Phenix City, AL; a step-daughter, Kimberly Simmonds of Gainesville, GA; two sisters, Janice V. Hart and husband don of Phenix City and Patricia A.
