I, Daniel Cordray of said county and State being of advanced age and knowing that I must shortly depart this life deem it right and proper both as it impacts my family and myself that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind Providence has blessed me, do therefore make this my last will and testament thereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. 1 Item. I desire and direct that after my death that my body be buried in a decent and Christianlike manner suitable to my circumstances and condition in life. My soul I trust will return to rest with God who gave it. 2 Item. I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid as soon as circumstances will permit by my executors hereinafter named. 3 Item. I give, bequeath and devise my beloved wife Celia with whom I have lived for about forty years and we have together raised and now are living all of my land of every kind and nature, my two negroes, to wit a man named Arnold and a woman named Bella, all my horses, all my cattle, all my hogs, all my household and kitchen furniture, all the provisions of every kind, the present growing crops, all of the plantation utensils of every kind and nature, all of which property is to be kept together during the widowhood of my beloved wife and at the happening or occurrence of the death or marriage of my said wife Celia it is my ill and desire that a sale be made of my (?) may be deemed (by my executors herinafter named) most advantageous to the interest of all my children and that an equal division of the proceeds of the same shall be made with all my children share and share alike. 4 Item. I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved sons Jonathan and Daniel Cordray Executors of this my last will and testament this August 7th, 1857.
