Will Book B, 1862-1875, Pgs 181/182 Written: May 20, 1872 Recorded: October 7, 1872 In the name of God, Amen. I. Julia J. Meacham of said State and county, being in a low state of health, and feeling that I may be approaching the time of my death, deem it right and proper to make this my last will and testament. Item 1: I give, bequeath and devise to my beloved sister, Sally H. Oattis and my brother-in-law, N. G. Oattis, all my interest in one hundred acres of land being the East half of lot No. 26 in the ninth district of Muscogee County, Georgia; also all the balance of my property in notes and accounts, and money I bequeath to my said sister, Sally and brother-in-law, N. G. Oattis, except my interest in my Aunt Margaret Jones Estate in South Carolina, and except my interest in money due to me and my sister, Sally, from my brother-in-law, W. S. Pitts. Item 2: I give bequeath and devise to my nephew James and my niece, Lela, children of my brother Jesse B. Meachum, all my interest in my Aunt Margaret Jones Estate in South Carolina, to be equally divided between my said nephew and niece. Item 3: I give bequeath and devise to my two nephews, James and William, children of my brother-in-law, W. S. Pitts and my interest in money due from the said W. S. Pitts to me and my sister, Sally. Item 4: I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved brother-in-law, N. G. Oattis, Executor of this my last will and testament, this 20th day of May 1872. Signed, Julia J. Meachum Additional Comments: Julia J. Meachum was the daughter of James Meachum and Mary "Polly" Walpole Harrison. She never married and died on June 14, 1872.
