Christian of the County & State aforesaid of the one part and Thomas James Farmer of this same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the aforesaid James G. Christian for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars in hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of these, presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien convey and confirm unto the said James Farmer, his heirs, and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the Eleventh District of originally Henry now Newton County, and being part of that lot number, One hundred and seventy one, that lies on the North East side of South River, containing one hundred and fifty acres, more or less, distinguished as follows. Commencing at the upper line of said lot at the River and running a north course to the corner of said lot, thence on East course to the line of the first corner, from thence a west course to the South River, then up the various measures of said River to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular, the rights, members and appurtenances thereof, whatsoever, to the said land being, belonging or in anywise appertaining with the remainder or remainders reversion and reversion renew years and profits thereof, to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of him the said Thomas Farmer, his heirs, Executors, Administrators, and assigns in fee simple, and the said James G. Christian, his heirs, Executors, and Administrators the said bargained tract or parcel of land unto the said James Farmer his heirs, Executors, and Administrators, and all and any other person or persons shall and will warrant, and forever defend by virtue of these presents. In witness whereof the said James G. Christian hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and year above. Written, Signed, Sealed and delivered in the presence of S. J. Christian (Seal) Georgia Newton County Before me, John Holcomb a Justice of the peace, personally appeared James Farmer Jr. Who being duly sworn deposeth and sayeth that his saw James G. Christian Sign, Seal, and Deliver this foregoing deed for the purposes herein mentioned, and that the deponent subscribed the same as a witness, and saw S. J. Clack do so likewise.
