Hill's), was protecting Ox Ford on the North Anna River, Va. James C. Flemister, E. J. Horton and Dave Harris, members of Co. H, were on picket. They located a picket of the enemy across the river and resolved to capture it, which they did by wading the river (unseen) and rushing upon the redoubt from opposite sides, all commanding at the same time, "Surrender, lay down your guns, be quick and move out or you will be shot." This order was promptly obeyed and when they rushed across the river they found the picket consisted of thirty seven men of the 51st Pennsylvania Infantry.
