These parties were Mr. Sam Weldon, Sen., and Miss Lovely Aycock, daughter of the late Richard Aycock. They lived from the time of their marriage near Covington until after the late war, then they moved to Thomas County, Ga., and settled near Boston, where they have raised all their children to man and womanhood, nine in number, five boys and four girls; five of whom are married. These good old people have been blessed to the highest degree, having all their children yet living and settled near them. Prof. Brad Weldon, the oldest, being in North Georgia, is the farthest from them; J. O. Weldon, the next in age, is yet with them being a bachelor, and a model farmer. Miss Lemma the oldest daughter is also with them, she too has never took on the yoke of matrimony. Dick, the next, is in Quitman, in the mercantile business. Miss Dollie, the second daughter is a teacher. Lint, is in Albany, clerking. Miss Mary is in Cairo, her husband being a merchant. Sammie the baby boy is in Albany, in the furniture business. Miss Nannie the baby girl is also in Albany, her husband is a confectioner. On the day of the anniversary all the children were present, save three. Those present made it a day of happiness for both parents and brothers and sisters. Aunt Lovely, the good mother, dressed in her wedding dress, and strange to say, there is a little change in the styles, then (50) years ago, and now. This added much to the amusement of the happy occasion. The children and friends presented them with many handsome presents. Mr. and Mrs. Weldon have many relatives and friends in Newton County, who will be much delighted to know they have lived to celebrate their golden wedding and both are in good health, for ones of their age. Uncle Sam being 78 and Aunt Lovely 65 years of age.
