L.D. Brizendine, the well-known Central railroad conductor of this city, has in his possession a violin 172 years old. This valued relic was made in France in the year 1735 and was brought to this country by one of Captain Brisendine’s ancestors several years prior to the American Revolution. Although it has been in constant use for nearly two centuries, the instrument is in a state of almost perfect preservation. Aside from the historical interest which attaches Captain Brisendine believes that his treasured relic has an intrinsic value that cannot be excelled by any violin extant.
