The perpetrator of the foul deed is, as yet, unknown. While resting in the driver’s seat on the carriage, awaiting the Accommodation train, a pistol was placed near his head and fired with fatal effect, after which the assassin fled. A thorough investigation of the affair is being had and nothing will be left undone to find the guilty wretch. Marcus was accommodating and polite and had many friends who will deplore his tragic fate. We learn that he was mixed up with a “woman affair” sometime since, but of course do not know that this had anything whatever to do with his assassination.
