We appreciated the holiday very much and returned to school with renewed zeal for our work. Several of the school girls attended the Exposition last month among whom were, Misses MAMIE EDWARDS, MARIE GRIFFIN, ANNIE MIXON, VERNIE WOODRUFF, LUCILE HYER, OLIVE SWANN and MARY SPEER. Mrs. O’KEEFE, the excellent lady in charge of the Primary Department, has been quite sick for several days. We hope she will soon be well again and at her place. The building is in a good condition, but the stoves gave us great trouble last week. Two of the rooms were at times so filled with smoke that recitations had to be suspended for a time. Mrs. O’KEEFE’S room has been enlarged and made more comfortable. The Seniors are glad to welcome our class-mate, Miss LEILA GRIFFIN, back to school, for we missed her so much during her long absence. Hope she will now remain with us. The walls of the rooms occupied by Juniors and Seniors have been adorned within the last week with a picture of the poet Longfellow, and one containing forty-four other leading authors of the United States. Miss STELLA STEWART has been absent from school about one week on account of an infection of the throat. We are happy to state that she is improving.
