Duke, who was killed by Noah L. Parker, her brother, on Dec. 24, was in our office Monday and desired us to say that the account of the unfortunate affair as copied from the Constitution was incorrect. She says there "was no social gathering" at the home of Parker the night of the killing. She says Parker, her husband and one other man were all the men present that night. That Parker invited her husband to go home with him and drink cold stew, at 10 o'clock at night and for no other purpose than to get up a difficulty. She says that "no old grudge" had anything to do with the killing, but that "a woman was at the bottom of it," and in court she will prove some ugly things about the slaughter of her husband at the dead hour of midnight. We sympathize with Mrs. Duke, her two sons, and all others whose hearts have been made to bleed in sorrow on account of this unfortunate tragedy. Additional Comments: See "The Killing of Wm.
