NO CLUE AS TO IDENTITY. Sunday morning about nine o'clock, Mr. Fred G. Neeley, who lives near the railroad bridge on Yellow River, went out for a walk in the direction of the river, and after going about a half mile from his home found the body of an infant carefully wrapped in a shoe box ______ ______ the large timbers now being used in the construction of the new bridge across the river. Upon investigating his find Mr. Neeley immediately notified Dr. W. S. Everett of Almon, and they went immediately to where the shoe box and infant had been placed. Coroner Joe S. Peek was notified and he in company with Deputy Sheriff T. F. Maddox, went to the scene of the tragedy. Coroner Peek soon empannelled a jury and started an investigation. After taking some evidence funished by citizens of that community the coroner's jury went into session, but failed to make a verdict. The verdict being with-held in order that a more thorough investigation might be brought out. Within a few hours after the report that an infant had been found near the river bridge a large crowd of people from the immediate community had gathered to see the dead baby. The coroner's jury will make a verdict on Wednesday morning, during which time a thorough investigation of the identity of the child will be made, if possible.
