HALL, the machinist, has left this city, so we are informed. ~RUFUS CRUSE contemplates going into the hotel business in this city soon. ~Wonder if D. H. ROBERTS won’t have an old fashion corn shucking. What say you, DAVID? ~JAKE SAMS and WALTER LEE had a most delightful time at the big ball in Jackson last week. ~Dr. J. C. ANDERSON tells us that many people in Hays District are sick with fever. ~Elder EUBANKS preached a powerful sermon at Holly Springs Church last Sunday. ~Mrs. FLOYD, wife of the late Judge FLOYD, has reached her new home in Florida, without an accident. ~JACK LINDSAY has a drove of the finest sheep we ever saw in this county. ~WAIN SWORDS, of Rockdale County, has been very ill since he went to Birmingham, Ala. ~Esquire HENRY MCCORD and DOSS SKINNER have left Rockdale County and moved to Alabama. ~JOSIAH BOSWORTH, one of the livest men in Georgia, has gone into the crockery business with MCBRIDE & Co., of Atlanta. Success to him. ~ANDREW J. MILLER, of Jasper County, who shot and killed THOMAS WAITS, some time ago, has been sentenced to one year in the penitentiary. ~Rev. J. N. BRADSHAW will represent the Presbyterian Church of this place at the Synod of Georgia, which meets in Macon on the 14th inst. ~Miss DAISIE HUFF, one of Atlanta’s most attractive daughters, has been on a visit to our city, the guest of Miss WILLIE CONYERS. ~SILAS ATKINSON, formerly of this place, but now of Madison, accidentally shot a ram rod through his finger the other day. ~We learn that Gen. and Mrs. R. J. HENDERSON will make their home for the present in Washington, Ga. It is with regret that we see this noble family bid adieu to our city. ~Mr. EDWARD HARRIS and family, and his brother LEROY, are visiting relatives in this district. ~Prof. ROBT. W. DAVIS, is finding ready sale for his nice syrup. It is pronounced extra fine by competent judges. ~Mr. W. T. HANCOCK, made a flying visit to this district a few days since. He seems to have a kind of hankering for this section of the county. ~Miss OPHELIA HODGES, of Butts County, is spending a few days with Miss FLORIDA HUSON, of Snapping Shoals. Hope she will have a delightful time during her visit to this pleasant Ville. ~The Rocky Plains young men report having had a very delightful time in Jackson attending the soiree, which recently came off there. They met with hospitable treatment at the hands of those clever people. WALTER LEE and JAKE SAMS will never forget the kindness shown them on this occasion by the young people of Jackson.
