A. Thompson has the largest strawberry bed in the county. ~Hon. L. F. Livingston spent Monday in town. As usual the Colonel was in a tip top humor and had a kind word for everybody he met. ~Rev. J. L. Rogers will preach at the Presbyterian church here on the 4th Sunday in this month, and regularly thereafter on the 4th Sunday of every month in this year. ~Mr. Wm. H. Pickett, of Newton Factory had a fine mule drowned at Wood’s bride on Yellow River, near Almon, one day last week. Of course, friend Pickett will insist that Newton County pay for this mule.
