Peek, one of the city’s most popular citizens and a gentleman well qualified to fill the position, was last Saturday elected Justice of the Peace for Covington district to succeed Col. Jas. P. Cooley, who resigned shortly after his election as Solicitor of the new City Court of Covington of September 20. Mr. Peek had no opposition and only a light vote, 87 was polled.
