D. Murray, of Atlanta, spent Sunday here with his parents. ~Miss Ora Lunsford was the guest Sunday of Miss Carrie Reid, at Salem. ~Mrs. F. M. Ewing, of Jersey, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. A. L. Bird. ~Mrs. Jno. B. Gordon visited relatives in Atlanta two days of this week. ~Mrs. Pauline Jarman spent a few days of this week with friends in Atlanta. ~Miss Pauline Ozburn, of Atlanta is the guest this week of Mrs. John L. Smith. ~Messrs. R. L. Towns and R. L. Mitchell were here from Social Circle Tuesday. ~Mrs. J. M. Allen is at Cole City on an extended visit to her daughter, Mrs. R. H. Bickerstaff. ~Miss Jule Allen is spending sometime in Augusta with her sister, Mrs. W. M. Robinson. ~Miss Marion Milligan, of Augusta, is with Mrs. I. L. Paine, of near Brick Store, for a ten day’s visit. ~Mrs. Luke Robinson and Mrs. F. H. Perry were visiting friends in Atlanta several days of this week. ~Mrs. W. D. Bailey, of Social Circle was the guest of Mrs. H. B. Anderson several days of last week. ~Miss Ruth Mobley, of Monroe, was the attractive guest of her grandmother, Mrs. W. S. Carroll, Sunday. ~Mrs. Harry Brooks, of Washington, will arrive today to be the guest of her mother, Mrs. J. T. Wright. ~Mrs. A. C. Bush, of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. R. E. Hastings, of Atlanta, returned home Sunday after a visit to Mrs. A. D. Meador. ~Rev. W. E. Venable is still sick at his home in Midway. His numerous friends hope for him an early recovery. ~Mrs. W. M. Venable returned Sunday from a week’s visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Mayfield, at Conyers. ~Mrs. C. A. Walker, of Ocilla, and Miss Leila Stanton, of Social Circle, were the guests Monday of Mrs. L. L. Flowers. ~Mrs. S. E. Berry, of Decatur, is spending some time here with her daughters, Mrs. S. V. Farmer and Miss Annie Mae Berry. ~Sergeant Newton Chapter D. A. R., held a most interesting meeting at the home of Mrs. C. C. Brooks Wednesday afternoon. ~Editor J. B. Thomas, of the Dawsonville Advertisor, spent from Saturday till, Monday here with his son, Mr. W. F. Thomas. He was in route home from Macon, where he attended the Grand Lodge of Masons. ~Miss Mamie Griffin, of Atlanta, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Everitt. Miss Mamie is here to nurse Master Robert Stillwell, who has been critically ill at the Everitt’s home for some time. ~Mrs. A. H. Foster left Wednesday morning for Tifton to be in attendance upon a three day session of the Georgia Federation of Women’s Clubs, being chosen delegate to represent the Woman’s Club of this city. ~Mr. W. M. Harper, of Alcova, who last Friday night happened to the misfortune to lose his home and all the contents by fire, desires to thank the many people who contributed to the liberal amount given him on account of the loss incurred.
