McElheney, of Monticello, to James Melwyn Bonner of Covington, son of Mrs. Ora Upshaw Bonner, of Atlanta and the late H. F. Bonner. The impressive ceremony took place in the study of the Rev. Walker Combs, pastor of the Covington First Baptist church, at 10 o'clock. The Rev. Combs performed the marriage rites of the bride's mother and father. The pretty bride, who was unattended, chose for her wedding an original fall suit of brown wool, worn with a becoming hat of brown French felt with ostrich tip trim. She wore matching accessories of brown and her bridal corsage was of white orchids. Immediately following the ceremony, the attractive couple left for a wedding trip to Gatlinburg Tenn., and upon their return they will reside at 212 Lee street in Covington. The charming bride for several years was a member of the Monroe Public Schools faculty and with her grace and poise made many friends in the city of Monroe and in the county. The groom is the grandson of the late John Berrien Upshaw one of Walton County's most prominent and distinquished citizens.
